As part of HMIS’ commitment to protecting the environment, the company established an Environmental Management System. This allows HMIS to respond to changing environmental conditions and requirements while reporting on environmental performance and reinforcing continuous improvement.
HMIS operates under an Integrated Safety Management System to protect the safety of all workers, the public and the environment. This system confirms potential environmental impacts are identified, controlled and monitored.
HMIS also holds an ISO 14001 certification from the International Organization for Standardization, which assures qualified businesses have a sound process for dealing with environmental issues and that those processes are followed in everyday operations. The scope of the certification applies to all operations managed under HMIS and its contract with the U.S. Department of Energy at or near the Hanford Site in Richland, Wash. and covers all persons doing work under HMIS’ control.
- Provide a brief sentence or two about environmental management and our dedication to environmental stewardship, including our ISO 14001 certification (more robust than what we had with MSA)
- Provide links within the text to the subsequent documents our MSA page used to reference, i.e. policy, EMS brochure, environmental reports (in my opinion, the way CPCCo lists the policy word for word is a little boring and I don’t thing visitors would read it)
- Consider having Environmental as a drop down under “HMIS Home,” as its own tab at the top, or grouped with Safety (ISMS) or Community… with a label for “Corporate Responsibility” or something along those lines.
